es ist jetzt offiziell: es wird das aktuelle 7-Gang Getriebe aus dem SportShift-III jedoch ohne den Automatikanteil sein, dafür aber mit klassischem "Doppel-H"-Schalthebel und Kupplungspedal. Es gibt dazu erste offizielle Dokumente von AM. Mit einem Sensor unterm Kupplungspedal wird die Drehzahl des V12 Motors im Hoch- und Runterschaltmoment gesteuert (Stichworte "flat shift" und "rev match").

AMSHIFT enhances the driving experience, through perfectly rev-matching gear changes, making shifting smoother at all speeds.
In most cars with a manual transmission, a smooth to match the engine rpm with the speed of the lower gear. This is further complicated when braking is required on the downshift, meaning the driver has to perform the one-foot, two pedal technique known as heel-and-toeing; your right foot blips the throttle while at the same time pushing the brake pedal. This is complex technique, that few drivers can perform smoothly.
The basic system components behind AMSHIFT are sensors on the clutch and shift lever, along with some finely tuned programming in the engine control unit (ECU). There is also a propeller-shaft speed sensor to ensure the propeller shaft matches up with the engine
speed. Pressing the clutch calculates the exact position of the clutch and gear to allow torque to be reduced or increased throughout a gearshift which in turn allows the clutch and engine speed to be matched, resulting in a much smoother gear change.
AMSHIFT is not just for downshifting, as it also adjusts the engine speed to the targeted rpm during upshifts. This allows the driver to shift up through the gearbox without having to lift off the throttle. This optimises upshifts and reduces any lumpiness that might result from letting the revs drop too low.
AMSHIFT can be used in all driving modes, but it is particularly enjoyable in Sport Mode. In this mode, the quicker throttle response and louder exhaust note emphases the down-shift throttle blip, creating a fantasic exhaust 'burble'. This makes the driving experience totally unforgettable, engaging and addictive. In Comfort Mode, the rev-matching makes the driving more relaxing and is particularly useful for city driving.
